Australia-just another pawn on the barbie?

News from downunder tells us that Australian politicians are ready once again to sell their copious mineral wealth to anyone for anything.; http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/story.cfm?c_id=2&ObjectID=10374822 . Of course there is little consideration for the indigenous peoples who use the land (that gets mined) for other reasons. For example;

Well, yes nuclear can be seen to replace some coal use but it appears China is on course to become the largest producer of nuclear waste. I wonder if they have plans for it and if so, what they might be.

China appears to be expanding on all energy fronts. Oil from Syria and Sudan. Gas from central asia. the Gorges Dam is now opening. Also they manufacture solar panels and other renewables technologies. At least they're spreading their bets!
